Title - 'Caerus'
Artist - HeKz
Drawing influence in equal parts from heavy metal legends and prog rock luminaries, HeKz seek to take the original progressive metal blueprint and rewrite it for themselves here on their brand new album, CAERUS.
This rising Prog Metal band from the UK have just released their second album, Caerus to an amazing notation in the music industry, and that's down to some highly impressive vocals from Matt Young alongside the twin guitar slinging of both Al Beveridge and Tom Smith, that's for sure.
Featuring nine (9) new, and original tracks, the familiar cornerstones of the band's style are still present in their follow-up album to Tabula Rasa, but the addition of James Messenger on swirling synths and solid Hammond playing is most definitely a major step in the right direction. Add to that the precise, playful at times drumming of Kirk Brandham and, well, it looks like HeKz have truly nailed down that it takes to succeed.
Add to the mix some inspired moments from renowned cellist Audrey Riley, this sophomore album is also the first from the band to receive a label release. Released on the band’s own BMH Audio label via Cherry Red Records, it signals both the bands and the labels intent to bring exciting new Prog metal of this level to the masses.
