In truth, and if you were not aware, The Legacy Collection (from Walt Disney Records) is a fantastic series of soundtracks that Disney will be releasing over the next few years. It will be appealing to fans of Disney music (the sets feature new and remastered content) as well as soundtrack collectors (the packaging and cover artwork is much better than your typical soundtrack release).

After giving the album a listen, I would say that the soundtrack of The Little Mermaid contains all of the music from the movie. Everything seems to be here: all the popular songs like 'Part of Your World' and 'Poor Unfortunate Souls,' the complete underscore for every scene in the film, and even piano and synth demos from composer Alan Menken.

This beautiful book-bound two disc collectible set features the award winning music from the film, never before released demos and working tapes from Howard Ashman, the aforementioned Menken and more. Exclusively illustrated by the talented Lorelay Bove, Walt Disney Records' The Legacy Collection is a musical masterpiece every fan will enjoy. Indeed, this overly-fine package is a highly recommended purchase - whether you are a fan of the movie or just its music therein.
