Title - 'Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li' (LS Records)
Artist - Various

'Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li,' the second live action movie in the Street Fighter series, follows the character Chun-Li, played by the beautiful Kristin Kreuk. And yes, that has nothing to do with the soundtrack, but man, she is just stunning!

Anyhoo, as this is an action film, of course a lot of these tracks are heavy on action and light on musical depth. Accompanied by lots of sweeping sounds, Asian drumming/motifs, and (sorry, but it has to be said) overextended melodies and repetitive beats, the score is definitely no masterpiece, but is also not one of the worst that I’ve ever heard.

Indeed, the searingly emotive violin on 'Gen Is Reborn' provides a solid capturing of contemplative emotion to a score that does have its bleak moments (such as 'The Escape'), but also does show real achievement for a job well done.
