For those not in the know, 'The Great Human Odyssey' is a three-part documentary series and interactive web documentary that explores the unlikely survival and the miraculous emergence of Homo sapiens as the world’s only global species.

Indeed, ancient climate research has revealed that we evolved during the most volatile era since the extinction of the dinosaurs. Just like the many other kinds of human who once shared our world, we should have died away. Instead, our species survived to populate every corner of the planet, against all the odds.

Composer Darren Fung ('Lost Years') has created, diligently, 25 accompanying tracks that flow seamlessly with the evolving story being told here - our story. This is how humans, as a species have miraculously adapted and persevered. Ergo, 'The Great Human Odyssey' is a fascinating documentary, for sure, but without Fung's musical accompaniment, well, it wouldn't be half as compelling.

Fung has captured the unfolding drama, the wonderment, the adversity, and the triumph, all the emotions evoked perfectly within his layered score. It must be any composer’s dream to have not only the remarkable resources to hand that he must have had, but to also have the support, talent and friendship of a director and producer like Niobe - who put this together over 18 months of filming - quite clearly shows his own personal dedication to the documentary's cause.
