Title - ‘A Night On The Sunset Strip’ (DVD/CD)
Artist - Eric Gales

For those not in the know, Eric Gales (aka Raw Dawg) is an American blues-rock guitarist, originally hailed as a child prodigy! As of 2016 Gales has now recorded and incredible 16 albums on major record labels, and has done session and tribute work throughout that time also. He has also contributed vocals on several records by the Memphis rap groups, Prophet Posse and Three 6 Mafia under the name ""Lil E"".

Following on from his 2014 release, Good For Sumthin, and once again on Cleopatra Records, blues rock phenom Gales brings his fiery six-string pyrotechnics deep into the heart of Hollywood's famed music scene on this spectacular CD/DVD concert package, A Night On The Sunset Strip.

Gales let's loose on a string of Southern fried soulful blues favorites from his back catalog including "Block The Sun" and "The Open Road" plus tracks from his most recent album Good For Sumthin'. Also included is a smokin' hot cover of The Stones' "Miss You" along with a rather special guest appearance by Good For Sumthin' producer Raphael Saadiq (John Legend, The Roots) on bass.

1. “Intro”
2. “Make It There”
3. “The Change in Me”
4. “Block the Sun”
5. “The Open Road”
6. “Sea of Bad Blood”
7. “Bass & Drum Solos / Guitar Solo”
8. “Swamp”
9. “1019”
10. “Good for Sumthin'“
11. “Miss You”

When you listen to this man play, whether it be live in-person, live on CD, or any of his studio albums, it makes you scratch your head as to why his isn’t a superstar already! He is just that damn good, trust me. And, as always, here on this superb live set, you have elements of hip hop, blues, jazz, rock and soul, all of which he blends to perfection.

The compositions of the songs are excellent and I was also highly impressed with the live recording quality and mixing thereafter. I'm amazed that a lesser known like Eric Gales can produce a CD with such outstanding audio quality while other very well known artists put up with sub par production and mixing. Anyway, this is a sonic and soulful tour de force known as Eric Gales, and now live, is oh-so highly recommended.
