As I'm sure you all know by now, Amii Stewart is an American disco/soul/dance-pop singer, dancer and actress most famous for her hit disco record cover of "Knock on Wood". Stewart is the stepsister of actress-singer Miquel Brown and aunt to Brown's actress-singer daughter Sinitta.

Her first single, the aforementioned disco cover version of the 1966 Eddie Floyd hit "Knock on Wood" (Floyd/Cropper), reached #1 in the U.S. in April 1979, and earned her a platinum record and a Grammy Award nomination. It also reached #7 in the UK, and #2 in Australia.

In the same year, Stewart followed up with another cover, this time The Doors' classic "Light My Fire", which reached #5 in the UK, although only climbed to #69 in the US. Indeed, she recorded it as a medley, incorporating "137 Disco Heaven" and entitled "Light My Fire/137 Disco Heaven".

Cherry Pop will soon release (August 26th, 2016) the newly remastered and expanded edition of her 1985 The Hits album, newly-retitled The Hits: Remixed. Featuring the ten original tracks, in the same order, there are now two bonus tracks: "Knock On Wood/Ash 48" (1985 12" Extended Mix) and "Light My Fire/137 Disco Heaven" (1985 12" Extended Mix).

Her 1985 version of The Hits was also a remix album of recordings by Stewart released in the United Kingdom. As mentioned above, the double A-side single with the remixed versions of "Knock On Wood" and "Light My Fire" reached #7 on the UK charts, followed by a re-issue of "You Really Touched My Heart" (#89). Stewart also re-recorded her 1981 duet "My Guy"/"My Girl" with American bassist and singer Deon Estus.
