'Hangman' is the story of a grizzled detective (Al Pacino) and a criminal profiler (Karl Urban) who pursue a serial killer whose crimes are inspired by a children's game called Hangman.

The soundtrack has been composed by the highly talented young German composer, Frederik Wiedmann. Out now via Varese Sarabande, 'Hangman' is as taut a set of compositions as the actual play out of the movie.

Each of the 21 tracks encapsulate their moments on screen perfectly and embrace the jobs given to them by Wiedmann perfectly. The opening track, for instance, 'The Hangman' is a brilliantly stirring, edgy work of musical art, much like the sombre, stirring 'An Old Case', the chilling 'Slaughterhouse', and the longest track at over five minutes, the simply pulsating 'One Scar Is Not Enough'.

Wiedmann composed the scores for the 2014 films Sniper: Legacy as well as Field of Lost Shoes. Wiedmann also composed the score for the 2007 film Return to House on Haunted Hill (building on Don Davis' score from the first film for some scenes).

As of 2012, he is responsible for composing the score to the television series Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Beware the Batman. Most recently, he composed the score for "Tremors 5: Bloodline" and Shut In.
