'Love Is Stronger Than Smoke and Fire,' a recently released song written and recorded by San Francisco singer-songwriter Sydney Brown and Grammy-winning Bay Area producer Narada Michael Walden, is raising money to benefit victims of California’s fires from late last year.

Brown is the 16-year-old daughter of Willie Brown, former San Francisco mayor and California State Assembly speaker and Walden has been a successful and prominent musician, singer and songwriter for more than three decades.

Written because it’s her home, the teenager couldn’t help but feel the pain of those burned by wildfires that raged through the state in October 2017. So when Sydney was writing a song with the legendary Narada Michael Walden, whom she’d first met seven years earlier, at the very beginning of her musical career, she knew the right person to turn to.

As a result, the smoldering dance number turned into something larger, much more spiritual and passionate – compassionate even – on a completely different level.
