The quite stunning Open Your Heart is the brand new EP from someone you should get to know sooner, rather than later, the multi-talented Emily Johnson.

Releasing on May 11th, 2018 via Tarpan Records, the renowned studios of Grammy Award-winning American producer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin), the four tracks contained on this EP are, one and all, something very special for us to hear from Johnson.

For on this release of original songs, Johnson creates her art with something beyond passion, giving herself to her audience with a great generosity, energy, and sincerity. Opening song, 'The Light' is a beautiful, stirring upbeat Gospel ballad, with the mid-tempo pop bounce of the title song as good as it gets within this genre.

Generously carved within each song, within each lyric, Johnson brings others together to ignore prejudices, erase borders, and overcome difficulties. Furthermore, she shares with them a simple pleasure, which is to sing. Sing loud. Sing proudly.

Which she for sure does on the sax funk and piano twirling fun of 'I'm Blessed,' and the final song of the foursome, the stunningly Motownesque 'Baby Forever.'

Johnson has been fortunate to work with some music industry greats, including the incredible guitarist John McLaughlin - who has consistently praised her as an artist he already considers "a star" - but here on her debut EP, Open Your Heart, it's already very evident that Emily Johnson has something very wondrous to offer the music world; right here, right now.
