Title - The Beauty of Chaos: Live At the Citadel (2CD+DVD)
Artist - Martin Turner Ex Wishbone Ash

As I'm sure most all of you already know, Martin Turner is a founding original member of Wishbone Ash and lead vocalist, bassist and key creative force on iconic albums such as the original version of Argus along with Pilgrimage, There's the Rub and New England.

And as for the aforementioned Wishbone Ash, they are a British rock band who achieved success in the early and mid-1970s; but did you also know that they are considered to be one of the major innovators of the harmony twin lead guitar format.

Indeed, their contributions helped Andy Powell and Ted Turner to be voted "Two of the Ten Most Important Guitarists in Rock History."

Released this past April 20th, 2018 via Dirty Dog Discs (Cherry Red Records UK), The Beauty of Chaos: Live at the Citadel, St Helens, 26th February 2016 (a brilliant 2CD+DVD set) includes Turner's award winning Written in the Stars album played live in its entirety along with a set of the best of Wishbone Ash.

In 2015, Martin Turner produced a new album, Written In The Stars. With a sound highly reminiscent of the classic Wishbone Ash sound from the 1970's, it was received very well. in fact, the album won the "Album of the Year 2015" award in the What's On magazine 2015 awards.

Not only during the course of this exquisite Written In The Stars live album rendition, let alone the best of material that accompanies it, Turner is in fine form, hitting nice long notes on melodic flowing solos and throwing in catchy hooks with far above average lyrics.

Sure, maybe the voice is a just a tad bit weathered by now, but a seasoned veteran like Turner has so many good things going on in these songs that that would be the smallest of quibbles here.

Not an Argus quality album of music, but every bit as musical, solid and good as New England or Front Page News. Turner makes the Wishbone Ash sound come alive again yet with a more modern day presentation and then unleashes a set of the best of Wishbone Ash ... could you possibly ask for more?

Oh wait, what's that, you did! Well you're in luck as this whole magical night was captured live for a stunning, crystal clear, colorful and rockin' DVD that accompanies this 2CD set. Additional material on the DVD include Interviews with Martin Turner and his band.

FYI: Martin Turner will be touring extensively throughout the build up to the 50th Anniversary of Wishbone Ash.
