This is the crackin' new soundtrack to the #1 2002 box office smash, 'Bend It Like Beckham.' Called the best British comedy since 'Billy Elliot,' it tells the story of an 18 year-old London Indian girl and her desire to follow her hero, David Beckham into a life of football. But, enough of that for this soundtrack is just brilliant when it comes to setting the musical backdrop. From Texas' wonderfully-catchy 'Inner Smile', to Mel C's anthem 'Independence Day', to Blondie's always-classic 'Atomic', the soundtrack never lets go of your ears. It also contains some soon-to-be-classic dialogue from the movie and some lovely Indian music in the form of artists such as Malkit Singh ('Jind Mahi'), Bally Sagoo feat. Gunjan ('Noorie') and 'Punjabiyan Di Shaan' by Hans Raj Hans. Perhaps Victoria Beckham's 'Not Such An Innocent Girl' track would have suited the album's mood much better than the featured 'I Wish', but that's only a small gripe!
