Title - 'Lonely Town'
Artist - Down By Law
For those not in the know, hugely influential punk rock kings Down By Law return with a compelling and supercharged new album proving these punk veterans haven’t lost a bit of their edge!
Formed in 1989 by former All front man Dave Smalley, who is the only remaining original member, the band has recorded seven studio albums.
They stayed on Epitaph Records until 1998 and have since switched to other labels. Down by Law has never achieved substantial commercial success, but a number of largely popular acts cite them as influential, and they still have an underground following even now.
After several lineup changes, the band went on hiatus from touring and recording in 2003, but resurfaced in 2008 before beginning work on new material and embarking on their first tour in six years in 2009.
In 2017, the band reunited their Punkrockacademyfightsong lineup and are currently active and touring.
As aforementioned, and still helmed by the unstoppable Dave Smalley, DBL remain peerless in writing some of the most dynamic and catchy yet quintessentially punk rock songs ever here on the brand new album Lonely Town (releasing February 26th, 2021 via Cleopatra Records).

Featuring the standout tracks 'Heroes & Zeroes,' 'Darkest Sun,' and 'This Heart Remains,' Down By Law's thunderously melodic new album opens with the gently frenetic 'Denim & Leather' and backs that up with the foot-stompin' 'Anthem,' the pop urge of the title track 'Lonely Town,' and then we get both the mid-tempo plush of 'Gleam' and the harder paced 'Steal The Night.'
Next up is the drum-led 'So Solo' which is backed by the manic 'Darkest Sun,' and that's followed by the low slung storytelling of 'Go Back Home,' the old school punk of 'Black Sheep, and then the fun pop bounce of 'Heroes & Zeroes.'
The album then rounds out in fine style with 'Soar,' the one-two, indie pop punch of 'This Heart Remains,' closing on the brilliant guitar rock of 'My Reservation’s Been Confirmed.'
Lonely Town is available as a CD and on a special limited edition BLACK & WHITE HAZE vinyl!
