Title - 'Under The Blade: Special Edition' (Eagle)
Artist - Twisted Sister

'Under The Blade' saw Twisted Sister at their heaviest and most metal, as witnessed by tracks like 'Tear It Loose', 'Shoot Em' Down', and the title track. Included in this Special Edition are four tracks from their 1982 Ruff Cuts EP (never before on CD) as well as a live version of 'Shoot ‘Em Down, from England’s prestigious Reading Festival 1982.

The CD starts with a "Good evening" welcome from Dee Snider. Spoken, cackled in much the same vein of Ozzy would, the track 'What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You)' comes across a little muted re: what Sister evolved into, but is still full on rock, for sure.

The drum intro'd, sing-along anthem of 'Bad Boys (Of Rock 'N' Roll)' is next, with the fast-paced 'Run For Your Life' and the Devilish-growl of 'Sin After Sin' up next. 'Shoot 'Em Down' and 'Destroyer' are run of the mill Sister, but title track 'Under The Blade' (complete with guitarist Jay Jay French's riff) cuts back to the raw chase quick enough.

'Tear It Loose,' inclusive of Motorhead's ace guitarist Fast Eddie Clark's solo is next, before the fist-pumper 'Day Of The Rocker' is brought forth. The first extra track (all so-called 'Ruff Cuts' versions) is 'What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You),' and is followed by 'Shoot 'Em Down,' 'Under The Blade,' and a rip-roaring version of 'Leader Of The Pack.'

In truth none of them sound much different to the originals (although bassist Mark 'The Animal' Mendoza is said to have had a helping hand remixing this!), so quite why they are included as Special Edition tracks is beyond me. But the last track is worth it, as it is a live at Reading, UK cut of 'Shoot 'Em Down.' "We're ready, are you ready?", screams Snider. The response an emphatic yes - even though the toy gun sounds on stage from Snider mid-chorus are pretty funny!!

Also included is a DVD containing the entire abovementioned, previously-unreleased Reading, UK concert and some Bonus Interviews.
