Title - Commitment
Artist - Jae Sinnett’s Zero To 60 Quartet

For those unaware, the brand new album Commitment (featuring Randy Brecker) is Jae Sinnett’s 19th recording as a leader. The record features 10 tracks that are conceptually varied and played with amazingly soulful and swingin’ depth.

There are five originals, three by Jae and two by pianist Allen Farnham and five sophisticated arrangements on standards and Commitment showcases the virtuosity of each musician beautifully along with their individual versatility.

Each piece is grounded in deep harmonic, melodic and rhythmic content and tells its own story. It’s a drop the needle record. Everywhere you hit you’ll find something intriguing and memorable. Commitment is the beginning of the process in achieving excellence.

1. Takin It There
2. Wait For Me
3. Morning
4. Simone
5. Skylark
6. Muhammara’s Dance
7. Be It As It May
8. Everything Must Change
9. Guise
10. No More Blues (Chega De Saudade)

This magnificently upbeat, always intensely impassioned new recording opens on the fervently frenetic Takin It There and the equally ardent, yet wholly devoted Wait For Me, and they are backed by the emotionally-charged Morning, the lushly sculptured, low slung swing vibe within Simone and the melodious balladry of Skylark.

The exotically sumptuous Muhammara’s Dance is up next and is backed by the dulcet, laid back Be It As It May, the finger-snapping, foot-tapping melodies within Everything Must Change, the album rounding out on the smoothly layered Guise, closing on the zealously cultured No More Blues (Chega De Saudade).

A native of Donora, PA, Jae Sinnett came to Virginia in the mid-70’s to serve in the United States Navy. After completing his military service, he began his music career by first attending Norfolk State University as a Music Education major. He evolved into a consummate drummer, composer and bandleader who has produced 19 albums as a leader and several as a sideman.
