Title - Tales Of Time [CD/DVD]
Artist - Joe Bonamassa

For those not in the know, Joe Bonamassa’s brand new recording, Tales Of Time is a live performance of his last studio album, Time Clocks – a sprawling and expansive musical undertaking filmed in August 2022 at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

Joe’s virtuoso guitar style, with his unique blues-rock technique and flair, elevates the evening’s performance to a stratospheric level. The visual spectacle of Red Rocks was almost dwarfed by the incredible imagery of the show’s visual backdrop, which highlighted the beauty of the live music.

Released on April 14th, 2023 worldwide via Bonamassa’s J&R Adventures as a wondrous triple vinyl LP set, both CD/Blu-ray and CD/DVD sets, and digital formats, Tales Of Time is just about as good a live show gets when it comes to something as stylishly produced as this one.

CD:
1. Notches
2. The Heart That Never Waits
3. Curtain Call
4. Mind’s Eye
5. Questions And Answers
6. The Loyal Kind
7. Known Unknowns
8. Time Clocks
9. Just ’Cos You Can Don’t Mean You Should
10. Evil Mama

This beautifully crafted, wholly impassioned live recording, and towering monument to the Blues, and which was produced by long-time collaborator and producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Journey), opens on the countrified blues of the gently frenetically-charged Notches and the mid-tempo rocker The Heart That Never Waits (boy, can he make that guitar wail), and they are followed by the cinematically-hued, powerfully-edged Curtain Call, then come his emotionally charged vocals on Mind’s Eye and the down and dirty, country-blues of the foot-tapper Questions And Answers.

Bonamassa, one of the greatest rockin’ blues guitarists of our generation, next brings us the coolly structured, rhythmically melodic The Loyal Kind and then backs that up with the sublimely smooth blues rock of Known Unknowns, the stridently euphoric, and yet layered with cadenced canyons Time Clocks, the CD recording rounding out on a true, unadulterated masterpiece in the form of the emotional wrench within Just ’Cos You Can Don’t Mean You Should, coming to a close on the drum-led, rockin’ funky monster of a track, Evil Mama.
