Side A:
1. Creep (Acoustic Version) – Radiohead
2. Crazy On You – Heart
3. Since You Been Gone – Rainbow
4. In The Meantime – Spacehog
This quite brilliant new double album of music opens on the languishing Creep (Acoustic Version) from Radiohead and fires into life with the rousing Crazy On You (Heart), one of my own personal favorites from back in the day, the fist-clenched brilliance of Rainbow’s Since You Been Gone, the first side rounding out on the lesser-forgotten, yet nonetheless memorable In The Meantime by Spacehog.
Side B:
5. Reasons – Earth, Wind And Fire
6. Do You Realize?? – The Flaming Lips
7. We Care A Lot – Faith No More
8. Koinu No Carnival (From “Minute Waltz”) – EHAMIC
9. I’m Always Chasing Rainbows – Alice Cooper
Flipping the first vinyl over, and the luxurious Reasons from Earth, Wind And Fire is first out of the speakers and that is followed by spacey Do You Realize?? (The Flaming Lips), the thumping We Care A Lot (Faith No More), the side closing on the spirited Koinu No Carnival (based on Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin’s “Minute Waltz”) by EHAMIC and Alice Cooper’s Vaudeville song, I’m Always Chasing Rainbows.
Side C:
10. San Francisco – The Mowgli’s
11. Poor Girl – X
12. This Is The Day – The The
13. No Sleep Till Brooklyn – Beastie Boys
Putting the second vinyl LP on the turntable, and up first is the infectious poppy ditty 10. San Francisco by The Mowgli’s and that is backed by the alt-rock of Poor Girl by X, then comes the early ’80s gem from Matt Johnson (The The) This Is The Day, the side rounding out with the foot to the pedal No Sleep Till Brooklyn (by New York hip hop group the Beastie Boys.
Side D:
14. Dog Days Are Over – Florence + The Machine
15. Badlands – Bruce Springsteen
16. I Will Dare – The Replacements
17. Come And Get Your Love – Redbone
Turning the LP over and first off we get the super-pulsating Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine which is backed by a track about an angst-ridden young man who wants to change and take control of his life (sound familiar, Mr. Quinn?!), Bruce Springsteen’s epic Badlands, this third musical adventure closing on The Replacements’ jaunty I Will Dare – The Replacements, and the groovy, soulful disco classic Come And Get Your Love by Redbone.
In Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
