Title - Adam Hood’s Different Groove
Artist - Adam Hood
Southern songwriter and artist Adam Hood has offered fans the perfect gift to celebrate the arrival of autumn with the release of his newly-updated 2007 album, Adam Hood’s Different Groove.
The blend of country, soul and American Roots music showcases Hood’s years of matured musicianship, reimagining the staples of his catalog with a fresh perspective.
The first time Adam Hood recorded Different Groove, he had never crossed the Mississippi River, much less set foot on a plane. He was very green and it took him three years of traveling to and from California to record the album. Midway through recording, he began his three-year Leon Russell adventure, opening shows for Russell’s band all over the country.
Just Hood and his drummer. Like all of us, his life has changed drastically in 15 years. Professionally, his style has evolved, his guitar playing has developed, and a number of the record’s songs have taken on a life of their own.
“After spending some time with The Band of Heathens, I felt like Gordy Quist would be the producer to give the album a new ‘groove,’” explained Adam Hood. “We recorded this version at The Finishing School, in Austin. The release of Different Groove was monumental in my career and something I’m still proud of. I hope that anyone that has a connection in time to the original version finds a home for this new version as well.”
