Title - Imported
Artist - Santa Chiara

Santa Chiara is the solo project of Italian musician, Chiara D’Anzieri, who officially moved to the United States in January 2020. Born in Turin, Italy she began her career as a classical cellist at the age of 10.

After years spent touring with various orchestras throughout Europe she decided to explore other instruments, songwriting and producing and began working in recording studios near her hometown in Italy.

Imported is her first collection of songs written in English and came out late this year on the legendary indie label, Kill Rock Stars.

The record talks about her experience becoming an immigrant, leaving her home country, adapting to her new country, discovering her new life in Nashville, growing and asking herself questions about her existence and the meaning of life.

She plays most of the instruments on the record herself with guests Ron Gallo, Dominic Billett (Courtney Marie Andrews, Julia Jacklin, Faye Webster), Jerry Bernhardt (Courtney Marie Andrews) and Eric Slick (Dr. Dog).

1. 25 (3:05)
2. Visa (1:21)
3. When you’re not at home (3:51)
4. Would you like some tea? (3:09)
5. Dear friend (2:58)
6. Interlude (monologo Steiner) (2:02)
7. What has gotten into you? (3:28)
8. Worth it or not? (1:49)
9. Love will take you from behind (2:48)
10. Always before (the fire) (4:12)
11. Two Trees (3:09)
12. Peach tree (3:42)

The album opens up with the flourishing 25 and the short, but not less compulsive alt rocker Visa and then comes the languishing When you’re not at home, the mid-tempo sly rocker Would you like some tea?, and then both the dulcet affair of Dear Friend and the French spoken word Interlude (monologo Steiner).

Up next is the countrified twang of What has gotten into you? and the electro-pop bounce of Worth it or not?, then comes the impassioned, sultry balladry of Love will take you from behind, the album rounding out on the indie-pop vibe of Always before (the fire), the peaceful Two Trees, closing on the gently jaunty Peach tree.
