Title - Nepenthes
Artist - Seekers are Lovers
In Greek mythology, Nepenthes refers to a medicine that Helena, the wife of Menelaus, was given by an Egyptian queen and which, when mixed with wine, was supposed to eliminate suffering, chase away fear and sorrow and make all illnesses be forgotten.
With this in mind, the band set out to create music in 2021 that would bestow this effect both on themselves and, ideally, the interested listener. As a consequence, the album title of the debut is obligatory, catharsis is the goal.
After almost two years of mutual inspiration and musical creation as well as personal ups and downs, an album has finally emerged that possesses both the distinctive style and the depth of content that a true music fan could wish for.
Emotionally charged, varied compositions with driving electronic beats, spherical synthesizers, fused with unmistakable guitar work - which is already considered the formation´s trademark - are paired with the inevitable euphoria of a debut album to form an extremely unique mixture. The connection between music, text and voice can quite rightly be considered symbiotic.
