Title - Live at the Mira Room, Vol II
Artist - Sam Ross
Sam Ross is a jazz pianist, composer, and educator from Long Beach, California who has opened for such artists as Marcus Miller and The Funky Knuckles.
He has performed and/or recorded with/for Robert Sput Seawright (credits include Snarky Puppy, Ghost Note), Albert Alva (Louis Bellson, Rosemary Clooney), Paul Kreibich (Gene Harris, Ray Charles), and more.
Live at the Mira Room, Vol II is an EP live set of six of Ross’ original jazz/jazz-adjacent compositions recorded shortly before the pandemic. You’ll hear from the likes of himself on piano and rhodes, Simba Distis on upright and electric bass, and Dr Mimmi Mured on drums.
These cats are like extensions of him considering how well they play and understand his music for he never has to tell them what to do because they already know what he wants.
