Title - Communal [EP]
Artist - Joel Tucker / Commodore Trio

Joel Tucker has been featured in various local and national publications for his guitar playing, including NUVO, The Indianapolis Star and Downbeat magazine. He is an active performer with The Tucker Brothers Group, Clint Breeze and The Groove, Eliot Bigger, and Prime Vintage, among other projects.

In 2016, Joel was a featured artist during the Indy Jazz Fest tribute to Wes Montgomery, where he played alongside guitarists Pat Martino, Peter Bernstein, Russell Malone, and Bobby Broom. He has also shared the stage with notable artists such as Chris Potter, Randy Brecker, APA finalist Zach Lapidus, and APA winner Sullivan Fortner.

Joel has traveled around the United States and abroad with various group, but most notably Ritmos Unidos led by Michael Spiro for performances as well as clinics centered around the progression of the jazz tradition.

The most recent release by the Tucker Brothers, Two Parts, has gained them national and international attention and features guest artists Elena Escudero, Ellie Pruneau, Amanda Gardier, and Walter Smith III.

And now the extraordinarily creative Joel Tucker / Commodore Trio are back with a brand new recording in the form of Communal.

1. We Are Surprised
2. Communal
3. Soundscape 1
4. Soundscape 2
5. Switzerland

This new EP of five relatively short improvisations opens on the stoically atmospheric We Are Surprised and then leads us into the veritably shimmering Communal, the moody Soundscape 1, the emotive Soundscape 2, closing on the enchantingly satisfying, soaring guitar rock found within the magnificent Switzerland.
