This is the just-released four CD expanded edition of Climie Fisher’s Coming In For The Kill from 1989. It includes the TEN songs that appeared on the original album alongside a 38 bonus tracks featuring singles, B-sides, remixes, edits, alternate versions, demo recordings, instrumentals and more.

A beautifully packaged set that includes five songs that appear on CD for the first time, as well as 16 previously unreleased tracks, all the tracks have been remastered using the original master tapes for a superior sound experience.

The 28-page booklet features lyrics, a discography, rare photos, as well as comprehensive musician and producer credits. Climie Fisher was the British pop duo consisting vocalist Simon Climie and former Naked Eyes keyboardist Rob Fisher.

Sadly, in my humble opinion, considerably weaker than their debut, this was their second and last long player, which I guess was largely due to the lack of any big hit singles that sprang out from it, sadly.

The songs are mostly upbeat, unprepossessing MOR with a positive message, and yet all with no distinguishable characteristics other than Climie’s lovely voice, of course.

Buried Treasure is the album’s Precious Moments, a singular, tear-jerking ballad and possibly the duo’s greatest track. Indeed, a buried treasure on an otherwise semi-unremarkable radio play record and yet an excellent example of pop from the start until finish.

Other stand out’s include the brilliant Facts of Love and Buried Treasure, along with the luxuriant It’s Not Supposed to Be That Way and the titular Coming in for the Kill.

As for all the wealth of bonus tracks, well, spread over an amazing 3 CDs, we get all the known tracks over and over again, all be they in varying forms, of course [the stand out being, funnily enough, the last cut of the collection, the expansively joyful Music Factory Megamix].
