Title - 'The Costello Show: Live at the El Mocambo [Live]'
Artist - Elvis Costello

Longtime Costello fans may already have this disc from when it first appeared - legally - in one of his prior box-sets, but nonetheless, this (still sounding to this day) incendiary performance documents Elvis Costello and the Attractions quite early in their career. The pace is frantic, the energy palpable. The band blazes through Elvis's already concise songs, with the only downside, for us Costello fans, being that the set is relatively short!

But this is all about quality, not quantity. Not to mention a little rock and roll history, of course. I mean, can you really go wrong with Elvis Costello and The Attractions performing in 1978 and doing a set of 'My Aim Is True' and 'This Years Model' material? No, of course not!

Chock full of audience sounds, chants, screams, whoops - recorded as if you we there (were you, perhaps?) - they don't sway your musical experience in the slightest, trust me. Mind you, and with all that said, I do know someone who was there that night, and having listened to this CD in full, that are still informing me that it's still missing the encores played that evening with Nick Lowe!
