Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen P2
(Ozioma Akagha, Laura Bailey, Troy Baker, et al / 4K Blu-ray + Digital / NR / 2023 / Studio Distribution Services)

Overview: On the heels of successfully escaping a deadly digital trap, the Justice League emerges in their own world to discover that Grimm, ravenous creatures from Remnant, have overtaken their world!

In order to defeat the monsters, they must call on their new friends for help!

Blu-ray Verdict: Much like Part One, Part Two is really quite wondrous with regard everything it sets out to do. Thus, Part Two wheels and colorfully deals much akin to the first part, but in my humble opiniion, may just beat it to the top of the entertainment stakes between them.

One thing I am always on the look out in these things is the whole interaction setup between RWBY and Justice League, and whereas Part One had a lot of plotlines (with many not really connecting well, or in some cases, fulfilling their promise to go anywhere), here multiple characters get in tune with one another, and thankfully very quickly.

Oh, and on a quick side note, here, even the enemies seemed tuned up to the max, which was a decidely nice thing to see. More fights. More action sequences. Just a little more of everything.

But, I digress, for the plot it that after their adventure in Remnant cyberspace, courtesy of Kilgare, the Justice League return to Earth. However, they find the Grimm have followed them and are somehow duplicating their powers. Bringing Black Canary up to speed, the League is forced to seek out Team RWBY for help.

Interestingly enough, after its cliffhanger ending confirmed that Remnant was ++ SPOILER ++ actually a simulation created by Kilgare, this second part flips the script by bringing both teams back to Earth, where once again some appearances have changed.

The primary Justice League members are back to their original adult forms (with new voice actors to match), and even Team RWBY looks different; the animation is still done by Rooster Teeth with its unmistakably smooth rotoscoped aesthetic, but the four ladies are now closer to DC-style characters with new costumes and powers to match.

Returning voice cast members from Part One include Ozioma Akagha (Teen Titans Go!) as Vixen, Jeannie Tirado (Soul) as Green Lantern, and Tru Valentino (The Cuphead Show!) as Cyborg, joining RWBY stars Lindsay Jones (Camp Camp) as Ruby, Kara Eberle (RWBY: Ice Queendom) as Weiss, Arryn Zech (The Detective Is Already Dead) as Blake, and Barbara Dunkelman (Blood Fest) as Yang. Newcomers to the cast include Jamie Chung (Batman: Soul of the Dragon) as Black Canary, David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad) as The Flash, Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina) as Wonder Woman, Troy Baker (The Last of Us) as Batman, and Travis Willingham (Critical Role) as Superman. Also featured are AEW’s Maxwell MJF Friedman (The Iron Claw), Christopher Sabat (Dragon Ball Z), and J. Michael Tatum (My Hero Academia).
