Former Mott the Hoople vocalist and guitarist Ian Hunter recently announced the beginnings of a US Tour that includes performances at the preeminent music industry convention South by Southwest, as well as a special appearance in New York with a string section that will replicate the sound of his new album, Strings Attached.

Recorded in January 2002 in Oslo, Norway, Hunter enlisted a full symphony orchestra to accompany him on new arrangements of his most classic hit songs for the live DVD and double CD set. Strings Attached will be released on March 8 on Sanctuary Records.

After spending over 30 years writing rock songs (and selling 20 million albums), Hunter began dabbling with orchestral arrangements a few years ago. In 2002, he performed and recorded a concert in Oslo, Norway, resulting in a powerful DVD/2CD set named Strings Attached. His legendary, inimitable onstage presence is taken to a new level with both a rock band and an 18-piece philharmonic orchestra. The collection features all of Hunter's best-known material, from the 'All The Young Dudes' to his first solo hit 'Once Bitten Twice Shy.' Included on the double CD are two previously unreleased tracks, 'Twisted Steel' and 'Rollerball,' while the DVD features 3 additional tracks not available on the international version of Strings Attached. The DVD also boasts Dolby Digital 5.1 and Stereo PCM Sound, and includes a biography on Hunter as well as an interview.
