Kill Cheerleader Kill Cheerleader

'It's Time To believe The Hype!'

Your sister's not a virgin anymore. She hangs out with the boys in Kill Cheerleader!

Kill Cheerleader are childhood friends with a fetish for early Guns N' Roses and Motley Crue, who learned their instruments together while practicing songs from old Stooges records. Soon they began writing original songs with the intent of tearing shit apart and creating raw and powerful anthems like their musical heroes before them.

They started off playing shows in Toronto but were banned from clubs for their off stage antics. They moved to L.A. and gained a following for their destructive and fresh take on dirty punk-metal. A whopping 7,000 demo CDs were sold off the stage and soon a German record label licensed one of their unmixed/unmastered recordings and released it as "Gutter Days".

Produced by Jordan Zadorozny (Courtney Love) Kill Cheerleader's new album 'All Hail' was released on March 14th, 2006 and was distributed by Navarre.

Chatting recently with Kill Cheerleader's Ethan Deth, and noting that the band had had quotes given to them such as 'The best rock 'n' roll band since Guns and Roses' (Lemmy - Motorhead) and 'A band to watch' (Nikki Sixx - Motley Crue), I first wondered just how easy it was to try to live up to such colorful media quotes ...? "We don't try to live up to anything. We do what we've been doing for years regardless of positive or negative reaction. Some of the members haven't even heard about those quotes!"

... and, in your own words, what does make Kill Cheerleader, perhaps just that: 'The best rock 'n' roll band since Guns and Roses'?! "We hate rock n'roll. We wanna stab it and drag it through the glass and leave it in the gutter to die!"

Your album title 'All Hail' is an interesting choice, but perhaps it originates from a more personal standpoint for you? "It's not personal at all. On our computer site there's a public forum thing and kids kept writing "All hail Kill Cheerleader" so I took it from there."

If there was one track on this new album that truly encapsulated Kill Cheerleader at their musical and lyrical finest, which one would it be? "I love and hate 'em all equally."

And just were did this band name come from and what else could it so easily have been?! "Miserable high school experiences. Beat up the jocks and kill the cheerleaders. The name was almost Nazipenis."

For fun, and taking the titles of a few of your album tracks, please let us know:

'Sell Your Soul' - If you could put your soul up for sale on Ebay, how much would your Buy-It-Now price tag be?! "I wouldn't sell my soul. The song is making fun of douches who would do anything for their shitty bands. I'm telling them to take the next step."

'Lady Of The Night' - If you were a pimp and had ladies of the night working for you, what would be your colorful pimp name?! "The song isn't a joke. It's about a girl one of us really cared about for years."

'Bad Habit' - What's your worst bad habit ... and why can't you kick it?! "Bad Habit? That's a misprint. It's supposed to say 'Bad Hobbit'!"

For the Average Joe who may not have heard of you and was thinking of buying the new CD, how would you yourself describe your sound? "Siamese twins f**king each other with 17 year old Axl Rose p***ing on their faces drinkin' f**kin' Nightrain!"

What '80s (and possibly cheesy!) pop song would you love to cover today if asked ... and why?! "Probably the theme to 'Saved By The Bell'!"

Lastly, I like Penguins ... do you?! "I like Puke!"
