'Starsky & Hutch'
(Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Snoop Dogg / PG-13 / 96 mins / Warner Bros.)

Overview: Based on the popular 1970s TV series, the story follows the titular pair of bachelor undercover cops (Ben Stiller as Dave Starsky, Owen Wilson as Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson), focusing on how the duo met and teamed up on their first big case: uncovering a cocaine operation run by a big-time drug dealer named Reese (Vince Vaughn).

Verdict: Stiller and Wilson's flirty, crackerjack rapport throughout 'Starsky & Hutch' has grown to resemble something like a pan-sexual, THC-enhanced Abbott and Costello! And sure, this version is not your mother’s cop show, but if you agree that Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller are a great comedy duo, then you’re probably going to enjoy it! But be VERY AWARE ahead of time - the only thing faithful to the original series is the familiar red and white Ford Grand Torino!! In the end though it's the film’s willingness to laugh at itself that makes this film what it is. This is not fine art, but pop culture fun, and for once the filmmakers seem in on the joke. Finally, the out-of-the-closet Starsky and Hutch we've all been waiting for!
