The new recording opens on the sweeping Daryl Braithwaite track The Horses and the rhythmically melodic Maybe I’m Crazy and then come the low lung, American balladry within the Radiohead classic High and Dry, the fervent The Allman Brothers cut Midnight Rider, and both the translucent Elton John classic Rocket Man and the tantalizing, harmonica-driven Steely Dan cut Pretzel Logic.
Along next is the countrified James Taylor hit Sweet Baby James and the ambient Lover and they are then in turn backed by the melodic Jackson Browne cut Doctor My Eyes, the all-embracing, jazz-pop fusion, Billy Joel / Tony Bennett track New York State of Mind, rounding out on the resplendent Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young classic 4 + 20, closing on a dutiful rendition of the Beatles’ The Long and Winding Road.
