Title - 'Your Mamma Won't Like Me' (Cherry Red Records)
Artist - Suzi Quatro

Suzi Quatro actually born Susan Kay Quatro (for the record!) is still to this day a British-based American singer-songwriter, bass guitar player, and actor. Indeed, she was the first female bass player to become a major rock star, in truth. Which, and based on that success empowered women of the 1970s to take up some ax, wear some tight leathers and grind out some tunes.

In the 1970s Quatro scored a string of hit singles that initially found greater success in Europe and Australia than in her homeland. But, following a recurring role as a female bass player on the popular American sitcom Happy Days, her duet 'Stumblin' In' (with Chris Norman) reached number 4 in the USA.

I can fully recall her on tour for this album also. She was the opening act for Alice Cooper's Welcome to my Nightmare, of all things! After her mega-powerful, fist-pumpin' performance that night, I must have played this LP about a thousand times that year!

Sadly, on March 31st of 2012, Quatro broke her right knee and left wrist whilst boarding an aircraft in Kiev (where she had performed the night before). She had to cancel her appearance here at the Detroit Music Awards, where she was to be inducted into the Detroit hall of fame (along with her sisters).

That had been scheduled for April 27th. Amazingly, that appearance would have been her first performance in America for over 30 years!

Now, as for this remastered and expanded Your Mamma Won't Like Me album from 1975, well, it (of course) includes the title track, which hit #31 in the UK, #12 in Australia and #27 in Germany. Other tracks that became singles include `I May Be Too Young' and `I Bit Off More Than I Could Chew'. Neither really made any headway in the charts in any country, sadly.

For this wonderful re-release, amongst the bonus tracks are included two 7" b-sides that have never been previously issued on CD before. Indeed, the new color booklet features original LP artwork, detailed liner notes (by Phil Hendriks), and glorious photos of all Quatro's relevant 7" single sleeves/art work.
