Title - 'Spacewalk - A Salute To Ace Frehley’
Artist - Various
Known as "Spaceman" or "Space Ace," KISS guitar legend is honored with the release of Spacewalk - A Salute To Ace Frehley, and album out now on Deadline Music. Featuring performances from metal giants such as the late Dimebag Darrell, Jeff Watson (ex-Night Ranger), and amongst other members of Megadeath, Anthrax, L.A. Guns, Skid Row and many more, Spacewalk - A Salute To Ace Frehley is just one incredible album to behold.
Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley is, of course, an American musician best known as the former lead guitarist and founding member of the rock band KISS. Indeed, the self-anointed “Spaceman" or "Space Ace" played with the group from its inception in 1973 until his departure in 1982. After leaving KISS, Frehley embarked on a solo career, which was put on hold when he rejoined Kiss in 1996 for a highly successful reunion tour.
Since those days, Frehley has released many a solo album, sold out many a venue performing his live music, and Guitar World magazine even ranked him “14th Greatest Metal Guitarist of All Time”! Here on Spacewalk - A Salute To Ace Frehley the man might not be connected to the musical licks, but his immense presence most certainly is.
Packaged in digital form, the 10-track salute to the guitar God kicks-off with ‘deuce’ from Marty Friedman, and follows on in similar style with ‘Shock Me’ (Gilby Clarke), ‘Rip It Up’ (Scott Ian), ‘Hard luck Woman’ (Ron Young & Jeff Watson), and then both ‘Snowbird’ (Snake Yabo) and ‘Rock Bottom’ from Sebastian Bach.
Tracii Guns then brings us ‘Parasite,’ which is backed by John Norum’s ‘Cold Gin,’ with the album coming to a monster close with Bruce Bouullet’s ‘New York Groove’, and then finally the late guitarist Dimebag Darrell’s take on ‘Fractured Mirror.’ Culling only songs from Frehley’s platinum-selling debut solo album, Spacewalk - A Salute To Ace Frehley is sure to longingly hold the attention of all those devoted Ace and KISS fans alike.
