Title - 'Unchained - Deluxe Edition'
Artist - Thor

Funnily enough, Thor started out as a concept band in 1973 and were actually originally called Centaur, before Mikl Body Rock. These entities were the brainchild of Jon Mikl, a vocalist, musician and body building champion who won titles such as Mr. USA and Mr. Canada. Deciding to combine muscle with music, Mikl Body Rock toured throughout North America seeking fame and to garnish enough attention to secure a record deal. Indeed, around that very same time, the press dubbed them "Kings of Muscle Rock" or " Warriors of Gladiator Rock".

Come 1983, and after much touring, Jon Mikl Thor formed a new band with Rusty Hamilton (aka Queen Pantera), Mike Favata, Steve Price and Keith Zazzi and released the Unchained EP. The record, which was on Mongel Horde Records in the USA at that time, got picked up for distribution in England through Albion Records.

Some 32 years later and classic metal fans all around the world can celebrate the re-release of this great EP from the muscle-bound thunder god of heavy metal himself, Thor. Complete with bonus material, such as extra tracks and even a two-hour long DVD that is chock full of metal mayhem, such as the 'Anger' concept video and behind the scenes footage from around that time; and so much more, Unchained - Deluxe Edition is one CD+DVD combo that you do not want to leave out of your classic rock collection.

Furthermore, and you Thor fans will probably already know this, but back when this was originally released, the band traveled to London, England to perform at the Marquee. They were overnight sensations and signed with Motorhead's manager Douglas Smith immediately thereafter. In 1984, the band decided to live in the UK. Most of the time was spent at Studios in London, writing and recording new material.

As for this new Unchained - Deluxe Edition, the band have also released a special Limited Edition LP, that comes in either blue or orange colored vinyl! It also includes the 1982 masters, and further contains a 20-page comic book reproducing the original Unchained comic plus additional unpublished art!
