Title - 'Axis of Justice: Concert Series Volume 1' (Sony)
Artist - Various
I've been to both of the big Axis of Justice concerts, and I have to say that the DVD is on par with the experience. The talent gathered under this project is unbelievable. People may complain about the music and how Morello and Wilk aren't resurfacing old RATM songs, but that's not the point. Their songs carry with them a very specific message to the people. It's a fight for humanity and social reform. So you may enjoy seeing some of today's greatest talents like Flea playing the bass (a piece he does with John from System on the DVD is AMAZING), Tom Morello singing his folk songs, or even surprise appearances from Maynard James Keenan to not only sing a Joni Mitchell cover but also sing in the backgroup of "Where the Streets Have No Name"! I highly recommend this set if you are truly appreciative of the talent of these individuals and the motivation it takes to come together in such magnitude for the cause.
