Title - Kingsman: The Secret Service (La-La Land Records)
Artist - Henry Jackman & Matthew Margeson
I have to say, from the off, that I really enjoyed 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' and can fully declare that the soundtrack score from both Henry Jackman and Matthew Margeson is a delightful fun romp of a gem.
Henry Jackman, who himself has already collaborated with Matthew Margeson on four (4) other films, obviously enables himself to work with composers that know their film score worth. The fact that scores have always reflected a true pleasure in their work, an essence that no matter how challenging the subject matter, the score always ha s to politely tell the story, here on 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' they are as creative as ever.
Based on the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn ('Kick-Ass,' 'X-Men: First Class,' etc.), 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined, but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training program ... just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
Starring the thinking-man's Hugh Grant, Colin Firth in the lead role, 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' is a true gem of a film, and a true delight as a soundtrack score. Margeson attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Jackman has built a successful career in the recording industry. Together they have streamlined the fun of the escapade, the thrill of the chase, the wonder of the red herrings here to a fine art.
