Title - The Haas Company Vol. 3
Artist - Song For Mimi
For those unaware, an important new label, Psychiatric Records, has released its third recording, The Haas Company Vol. 3, an exciting set of rock/fusion featuring Song For Mimi and guitarist Samuel Hällkvist.
Label head Steve Haas has had overlapping careers as an entrepreneur, businessman, composer, producer, band leader, and drummer.
From an early age he loved the more creative sides of rock and fusion which led him to leading his own band, founding The Haas Company, and recording albums that put the focus on major innovators.
Now with the formation of Psychiatric Records, Steve Haas has an outlet to release a series of albums featuring masterful players in inspired settings.
Guitar virtuoso Samuel Hällkvist stars on this release which includes contributions from keyboardist Pete Drungle, drummer Steve Haas, violinist Jerry Goodman, and guitarist/bassist Sean Lennon.

This magical musical artistry opens on the free flowing musical majesties within Aphelion and then we get the strident fare of Shaguzo, the veritably shimmering In Cologne, the all-encompassing masterpiece, thirteen minute Intravenous, before the frenetic prog-rock opera Smacky McBrown is brought forth.
Along next is the organically ethereal vibe of Country Cousin which is in turn backed seamlessly by the rocking prog guitar blues of Tokyo Sidewalk, the elegant, almost ballroom swirl and twirl of the title track Song For Mimi, the album rounding out on the joyfully excitable Last Song, coming to a close on the actual finale track, the dutifully funky The 1970’s.
The wide-ranging music released by Psychiatric Records and Tapes has several qualities in common: dazzling musicianship, versatility, outstanding songs, very original and distinctive soloists, a desire by the musicians to stretch themselves, and energetic passion.
With the release of The Haas Company Vol. 3, Psychiatric Records and Tapes, which has already been making its mark as a label well worth watching, is continuing to bolster its musical legacy.
