Overview: Often referred to as the American Nekromantik, Hugh Gallagher’s Gore Trilogy is a shot-on-analog-video smorgasbord of sleaze and blood that has shocked and delighted underground movie fans for years.

Now, for the first time ever, all three movies are presented on one release! This new edition also features a 75 behind the scenes on Gorotica, featuring fan interviews and never before seen behind-the-scenes to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the middle child of the trilogy.

Also includes Gorgasm and Gore Whore and a bonus 4th movie, Dead Silence.

Blu-ray Verdict: First up is Gorotica (1993) where Neil and Max are bank robbers. Max swallows an expensive jewel and gets shot and dies. Neil takes off with Max and meets Carrie the necropheliac.

The film opens immediately with in-your-face real footage of people being hanged or murdered or shot. So the real gore is there to find. It’s interrupted by a girl watching it and who then starts to touch herself. The nudity goes further then in Gorgasmn (1990) because here the girl goes all the way. With close-ups of her pubic hair and a little bit more.

The score is like in Gorgasm, making it metal and industrial. Again, it’s shot on video with a lot of grainy film aspects this time. But the acting is better, still not great, of course, but better than expected.

Next up is Gorgasm A bottom of the barrel private detective begins to investigate some weird crimes. There is an ad in a magazine with the image of a hot chick advertising Gorgasm, the ultimate climax and apparently the ultimate climax is death!

Gorgasm is a low budget SOV from 1990 so expect a complete home movie look, which is not a terrible ting overall. The lead, Gabriela, is hotter than hell and is topless all the time. The soundtrack is really very good, with the tune Sex Toy having been an ear worm now for weeks!

Then comes Gore Whore (1994). Witman reanimates Dawn, a dead whore. Dawn goes on a killing spree because she needs blood and is on a revenge trip. Chase is trying to track her down.

Gore Whore is the twisted tale of a dead girl who must drink the blood of the living and inject herself in a strange place with a strangely shaped syringe of fluorescent green stuff to stay alive. A burnout ex-cop is hired to find the whore and bring her to a doctor who made the gore whore so she could be his sex slave.

What a story, huh? Although it was made super cheap and shot on a video camera it was a surprisingly entertaining and funny flick. Despite the budget and production, you could tell the director had some talent and if you just wanna burnout in front of the tube and see some T&A and have a few laughs, I say go for it ..... and bring along Gore Whore!
