Title - ‘More Than A Woman’ (Arista)
Artist - Toni Braxton
Toni Braxton most certainly is. Her newest effort, More Than A Woman is a nice combination of Toni's well known smooth mid tempo songs and more upbeat hip-hop tracks with the help of Big Tymers, Loon, Pharrell Williams from The Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins. One of the reasons I requested the album was the guest appearances of these artists. One thing to keep in mind is the first track, "Let me show you the way" almost has a reggae/dancehall vibe, but don't let that fool you. The rest of the album isn't like that, except "Me and My Boyfriend" which admittedly does have a Spanish/Flamenco vibe. My four favorite tracks after a couple of times through the album are "Give it Back" (featuring the Big Tymers), "Hit the Freeway" (featuring Loon), "Do you remember when", and "Selfish" which is more like the Toni Braxton songs we’re used to.
