Title - 'The West Wing' - Original TV Soundtrack
Artist - W.G. Snuffy Walden

'The West Wing' was the premiere political TV drama of this century, running from 1999 to 2006, and setting records for Emmy Award nominations by a primetime series.

W.G. Snuffy Walden won an Emmy for the theme song and long in demand, this compilation of 29 tracks is the first widely available CD of West Wing music there has been thus far.

Indeed, Walden is a very popular TV composer, having additionally scored; Roseanne, Ellen, Felicity, Friday Night Lights and more.

1. 'We Begin'
2. 'The Aftermath'
3. 'One Down in Gaza'
4. 'Leo Has to Go'
5. 'Ways and Means'
6. 'Leo's Lament'
7. 'Two Cathedrals'
8. 'No Exit'
9. 'Donna and the Delegation'
10. 'The 14th Amendment'
11. 'Halls of the White House'
12. 'Walking the West Wing'
13. 'The First Commandment'
14. 'The Oval Office to Main Title'
15. 'Retaliatory Strikes'
16. 'Recovery'
17. 'Camp David'
18. 'Proportional Response'
19. '24-Hr Deadline'
20. 'Charlie in the Oval Office'
21. 'Mrs. Landingham'
22. 'One of Three'
23. 'Presidential Proclamation'
24. 'Questions'
25. 'Jefferson Lives'
26. 'Strike Immediately'
27. 'Super Tuesday'
28. 'Alternate Options'
29. 'The Nomination'

In truth, this expertly brought together collection of 29 tracks from the quite-brilliant TV show flashes you right back to the time when you sat there watching it.

Which is, in my book, a great sign that the music was just as important to the show as were the actors and cinematic experience ever were.

And that is all down to the great W.G. Snuffy Walden, a man whose craft was always composing and one in which he truly excels.

Stand out cuts for me are (after the 11 second opener) the stern, but flexible duo - 'The Aftermath' and 'One Down In Gaza' and then further in, the short-but-sweet 'The 14th Amendment' (which is performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony, with Orchestra Contractor David Low and Conducted by Pete Anthony).

Then comes the magnificent, breathtakingly vivid trio of 'The Dog of War,' 'The Defector,' and 'The Benign Prerogative.' Of course, all the other tracks are of equal measure with regards how they tell 'The West Wing' story, but some just grab you - and these did for me.

There is also a limited edition (to just 2000 copies) 2CD soundtrack (of 44 tracks) which is now available to order on the Varese Sarabande official website (see below). A digital version will be released by WaterTower Music.
