Title - Opera 8
Artist - Claudio Scolari Project

For those unaware, the Claudio Scolari Project returns with their latest album Opera 8, marking the maturation of this modern jazz quartet as they release their eighth studio album.

Continuing the tradition of the project, the album encompasses various influences: jazz, classical, funk, and experimental, all structured around improvisation.

Also, the titles of the tracks encapsulate the core concept of the album: capturing shared emotional moments, fostering a deep connection among all band members.

The album features Claudio Scolari on drums/synth programming, Daniele Cavalca on drums/live synths/rhodes/piano, Simone Scolari on trumpet and finally Michele Cavalca on electric bass (the new entry of the project who turned the trio into a quartet).

1. Harmonic Canopy (7:21)
2. Eclectic Groove Expedition (7:03)
3. Decisive Crossroad (6:30)
4. Let It Flow (3:52)
5. Necessary Loneliness (5:52)
6. Walking Distance (7:38)
7. Celestial Revelation (4:09)
8. Moving Particles (6:27)
9. Wood, Skin & Brass (4:48)
10. Primordial Forces (8:38)
11. View from Above (5:28)

This wonderfully flourishing, mightily impassioned new recording opens on the languishing beauty found within Harmonic Canopy and the joyfully structured Eclectic Groove Expedition and then we get the flourishing Decisive Crossroad, the rhythmically propulsive Let It Flow and the late night, smokey underground jazz club vibe of Necessary Loneliness.

Along next is the quietly fervent, scurrying Walking Distance and an aching yearn that threads throughout Celestial Revelation and they are in turn backed by the jagged layers of Moving Particles, the dulcet, yet formulated Wood, Skin & Brass, the album rounding out on the Latin-hued gentle swing of Primordial Forces, closing on the synth-imbibed harmonies that propel View from Above.

Musicians:
CLAUDIO SCOLARI: drum set 1, synth programming
DANIELE CAVALCA: drum set 2, live synths, rhodes, piano
SIMONE SCOLARI: trumpet
MICHELE CAVALCA: electric bass
