Title - The Light Years
Artist - The Magnolia Janes

For those unaware, The Magnolia Janes have a way of sorting through life’s highs and lows, painting lush, emotional soundscapes that guide listeners to look for the beauty within.

Made up of friends and songwriters Sarah Bonsignore and Ashley Riley, the duo first met at a sync songwriting retreat in the Pocono Mountains. Both acclaimed solo artists who have had success writing music for film & TV, they bonded over their love of vintage clothes, cheap wine, and so many laughs.

They performed together, backing each other up on their own solo music on stages in California, Nashville, and New York before officially deciding to form their band, and their quite darling debut album, The Light Years, dropped this past July 12th, 2024.

1. Stones On The Road
2. Speed Of Life
3. Goodbye To Lonely
4. The Sun In My Backyard
5. Pretty Baby
6. Running
7. Gotta Leave A Good Thing
8. Same Side
9. The Light Years
10. Five More Minutes
11. This Old World

The Americana/folk/indie pop-rock singer-songwriter duo open their album on the walkabout, good times felt within Stones On The Road and the languishing Speed Of Life, and then brings us the dutifully dulcet balladry within Goodbye To Lonely, the sumptuous The Sun In My Backyard and the sweetly sugary, veritably glistening Pretty Baby.

Along next is the troubador roll to Running and the shimmering glow that comes adorning Gotta Leave A Good Thing, and they are in turn backed by the beautiful piano ballad Same Side, the album rounding out on the whispery storytelling of the titular The Light Years, the slow dancefloor swirl of Five More Minutes, closing on the all-embracing This Old World.
