Title - Icterus II
Artist - stef.in

For those unaware, stef.in will release its second album, Icterus II, on April 4th, 2025, through Barnyard Records in both LP and digital formats.

The Toronto-based group includes Stefan Hegerat (drums and composer), Robyn Gray (guitar), Patrick O’Reilly (guitar), and Mark Godfrey (bass).

The group have been together since 2017, released the first Icterus album in 2018. This second instalment follows a five-year gap and introduces a set of compositions influenced by mid and post-pandemic experiences, touching on issues such as mental health and socio-political instability.

Icterus II was tracked, mixed, and mastered by Jean Martin at The Barn and visual contributions come from Amy Weber (artwork) and AJ Wright (design).

1. Three Wars
2. Here’s to Circle
3. Aku San Zan
4. Dosage
5. Juan Soto
6. Old Guard
7. Our Circle
8. Leave Unattended and Suffer the Consequences

Combining elements of experimental rock and jazz, this brand new recording opens on the electronical textured Three Wars and then we get the ambient plumes that thread throughout Here’s to Circle, the propellent prog of Aku San Zan and then the emboldened Dosage is brought forth.

Recorded at The Barn and Mix and Mastered by Jean Martin, along next is the masterfully blended Juan Soto which is itself backed by the melodious Old Guard, the creatively imaginative Our Circle, the set coming to a close on the sonically transformative Leave Unattended and Suffer the Consequences.

Musicians:
Robyn Gray ~ Guitar
Patrick O’Reilly ~ Guitar
Mark Godfrey ~ Bass
Stefan Hegerat ~ Drums
