Title - Something There – Remembering Jeffrey Foskett
Artist - Various
Born and bred in the Golden State of California, Jeffrey Foskett and his angelic voice were destined to be part of the California Sound forever.
An early acolyte of The Beach Boys and the music of Brian Wilson, Foskett was serendipitously “discovered” by Beach Boys lead singer, Mike Love, in a bar in Santa Barbara in the early 1980s. Foskett would later describe this “chance meeting” as “opportunity knocking” and he seized it with every ounce of talent he possessed.
Soon after meeting Love, Foskett joined The Beach Boys on the road. Very quickly, his soaring falsetto and incredible musical talent earned him the title of “Vice-Principal” as he assisted Hawthorne’s favorite sons with their late ’80s resurgence (Live Aid, “Kokomo”). This experience led him to many further “opportunities” and ultimately led him to join Brian Wilson’s touring band in the 1990s.
Along the way, Foskett himself was creating original music and unique collaborations which led to several solo projects, all critically acclaimed.
In the late ’90s, as musical director and confidante, Jeffrey stood by Brian Wilson’s side to attend to some unfinished business… the completion of Wilson’s legendary opus, Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE and its accompanying tour.
In 2012 Foskett was also instrumental in reuniting The Beach Boys for their widely successful 50th Anniversary tour and reunion album That’s Why God Made The Radio.
Sadly, after a lengthy battle with throat cancer, Jeffrey Foskett passed away in December of 2023.

With guest appearances from Brian Wilson, Mike Love, America, Robert Lamm (Chicago), Christopher Cross, Los Straightjackets, and more on this first-ever anthology of Jeffrey Foskett, this musically infectious new recording opens on the rambunctious Tell Me, an infectious Barbara Ann and a quick A Cappella version of Splash City, before we get the finger snapping delights of I Live For The Sun, the languishing Something There, the alt-pop focused Thru My Window are brought forth, with the delicious Mary Honey, a short A Cappella moment with Summer Love, a brilliant soft rocker in the form of an alternative cut of You Remind Me Of The Sun and an alternate Version of the dutifully soulful Remembering, before both the melodious Cool And Gone and the simply heavenly Simple featuring Christopher Cross are then brought forth.
Along next is an A Cappella version of the summertastic Sunshine All The Time, a short, but sweet alternative cut of The Word Go and the laid back I Wanted You To Know and they are themselves backed seamlessly by the an alternate acoustic version of the heartwarming Feeling Just The Way, the sing-along Everybody, the propellent Little G.T.O. and a haunting A Cappella version of Hurting Each Other, the set rounding out on the low slung alt-rocker Living Alone, the delightfully tuneful Everything I Need, the atmospherically-charged Crying, closing on a masterful She’s The One I Know, the harmonious I Can Hear Music (Acoustic Version) and a low key, veritably acoustic Love Me Do/From Me To You.
