Title - 'Not Fade Away' - OST (ABKCO)
Artist - Various

'Not Fade Away,' as a movie is a meandering, yet totally bittersweet coming-of-age story. And luckily for us lovers of great music, it comes backed by an incredible '60s pop-rock soundtrack.

Sure the movie, directed by David Chase ('The Sopranos') wasn't well received, even being heavily criticised for its lack of true thematic tone and manipulated images over plot. But this incredible collection is just the most incredible, the most perfect musical accompaniment to any road trip, trust me!

This soundtrack (which I actually also have on vinyl as a promo item, and let me tell you, that sound kicks ass!) is an eclectic gathering of some of the best '60s tunes to those that always somehow lay on the fringes of your mind. Inclusive of timeless classics from James Brown ("There Was A Time"), The Rolling Stones ("Tell Me"), “Itchycoo Park” by The Small Faces, Lead Belly ("Good Morning Blues"), Van Morrison ("T.B. Sheets"), Moody Blues "Go Now"), Sex Pistols ("Road Runner") and such, we also get to here from the lesser-known bands of the era. Bands such as The Left Banke ("Pretty Ballerina") to Johnny Burnette & The Rock N' Roll Trio ("Train Kept A Rollin'") all bring the musical background to the fore.

Helping to bring it all together is E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt who also starred in Chase's 'The Sopranos.' He curates the music in Chases' big-screen directorial debut set in New Jersey and co-starring yet another of 'The Sopranos' alumni, James Gandolfini!

Jam-packed with 26 songs that will keep you replaying the songs over and over and over again, 'Not Fade Away' is something you HAVE to have in your collection. Please believe me.
