Title - 'Light My Fire: Classic Rock Tribute to The Doors'
Artist - Various

You wanted the best, you got the best ... Light My Fire: A Classic Rock Tribute to The Doors is a brand new compilation of Doors songs that are being covered by contemporaries of The Doors; or bands now considered to be still gripped with the “classic rock” genre.

OK, you may not have wanted this as much as the classic rock lovers of the day that have now seen their favorite genre combined with their favorite band, but you will still sit back and be amazed at the sounds provided; trust me!

Chock full of classic rock royalty, Light My Fire: Classic Rock Tribute to The Doors brings together artists from such bands as Yes, Mr. Big, Wishbone Ashe, Rainbow, Dream Theater, Asia, Moody Blues, Ambrosia and so, oh so many more!

Indeed, the album kicks-off with 'L.A. Woman' - Jimi Jamison (Survivor), Ted Turner (Wishbone Ash) & Patrick Moraz (Moody Blues), before heading into both 'Love Me Two Times' – Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Thijs van Leer (Focus) & Larry Coryell, and then 'Roadhouse Blues' – Leslie West (Mountain), Brian Auger & Rod Piazza. It continues onwards with such inventive reworkings as 'Love Her Madly' – Mark Stein (Vanilla Fudge) & Mick Box (Uriah Heep), 'Riders On The Storm' – Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), Tony Kaye (Yes) & Steve Cropper (Booker T. & The M.G.’s), and then 'The Crystal Ship' – Edgar Winter & Chris Spedding.

The classic rock era of stars keeps a' comin' with 'Intro (People Are Strange)' – Keith Emerson, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter & Joel Druckman (John Fahey) and then the actual 'People Are Strange' – David Johansen (NY Dolls) & Billy Sherwood (Yes), before providing is with an incredible rendition of 'Touch Me' – Robert Gordon, Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Steve Morse & Nik Turner (Hawkwind). One of my all-time favorite singers is next on 'The Soft Parade' – Graham Bonnet (Rainbow), Christopher North (Ambrosia) & Steve Hillage (Gong), with both 'Hello, I Love You' – Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep) & Roye Albrighton (Nektar) and 'Spanish Caravan' – Eric Martin (Mr. Big) & Elliot Easton (The Cars) along for the ride thereafter.

On a CD that truly honors the influence of The Doors, and featuring the same approach as Cleopatra's recently-released A Psych Tribute To The Doors, it continues on with 'Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar)' – Todd Rundgren & Geoff Downes (Yes / Asia) & Zoot Horn Rollo (Captain Beefheart), 'Break On Through' – Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) & Chick Churchill (Ten Years After), 'Light My Fire' – Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Rick Wakeman (Yes) & Steve Howe (Yes), and then finally; and fittingly, 'The End' – Pat Travers & Jimmy Greenspoon (Three Dog Night).
