'Xiaolin Showdown - Season One'
(Rene Auberjonois, Jeff Bennett, et al / 2-Disc DVD / NR / (2003) 2006 / Warner Bros.)

Overview: A young Xiaolin monk named Omi with a giant yellow head leads a trio of other students to collect powerful items known as Shen Gong Wu while battling the evil Jack Spicer who is also after the artifacts.

DVD Verdict: Xiaolin Showdown is a great show. The story gets better as the series goes on and it has very good characters and voice overs. Each character has a different personality. There's Jack Spicer, who is quite a funny villain. As the series progresses, I think it becomes clear that he is not pure evil like Chase is. He is afraid he will fail at being good just like he fails at being really evil most of the time. I like him the best. Omi is also a very funny character, always saying things wrong and being hyper. He's quite a loveable one, adding much humor to the show. Raimundo is quite a misunderstood character. He is mostly good-hearted even though there seems to be a little darkness in him. This makes him one of the interesting characters in the series, always having you wonder which path he will choose in the end. Kimiko is the tough girl in the show. She can get angered easily yet she has a good heart and cares about the other Xiaolin warriors. Clay's a funny character, too. I like his accent. And then, there's Chase Young and Wuya, the real villains of the show. I think if any of the characters are really 'pure' evil, it's these two. Chase is an interesting character and a pretty cool animated bad guy with his ability to take the form of a dragon. There is many awesome things about this show. The characters, the plot, the humor, the different personalities, and the colorful animation style. This is a must watch! This is a Widescreen presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and come with the Special Features of all 13 episodes on two discs.
