Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: It's a Beautiful Day
(DVD / NR / 2015 / PBS KIDS)
Overview: Four-year-old Daniel Tiger invites young viewers directly into his world, giving them a kid's eye view of his life and making them feel like one of his neighbors.
DVD Verdict: For those of you that are not aware, 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' is an animated continuation to Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, where all the original characters are now grown up with their own preschool-aged children.
Personally, I loved Mr. Rogers Neighborhood as a kid, and although this is a very different, more modern show, I am pleased to see the good moral underlining and joy that this show brings to him while still keeping true to the same themes. I love the little songs that have more meaning than rhyme and the lessons in the show along with the story lines.
Contained in this brand new DVD are eight (8) grr-ific tales: 'Daniel Explores Nature,' 'Daniel's Nature Walk,' 'Safety at the Beach,' 'Neighborhood Clean Up,' 'Fruit Picking Day,' 'A Trip to the Enchanted Garden,' and both 'Daniel Plays Ball' and 'The Royal Sandbox.'
As I'm sure all followers of him already know, Daniel and his family love spending time outside in their neighborhood: going for walks, playing with friends like Katerina Kittycat and Prince Wednesday, and enjoying the world around them. In these fun stories, Daniel learns about safety at the beach and visits the Enchanted Garden to pick delicious strawberries. And when a windstorm makes a mess of the neighborhood playground, Daniel and his friends and neighbors work together to clean up and make it ready for play again.
As always, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood to join Daniel Tiger and friends as they have a whole lot of fun and learn life's little lessons. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
