Wicked: For Good (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital)
(Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande-Butera, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, et al / 4K Ultra HD + Digital / PG / 2026 / Studio Distribution Services)

Overview: Just in time for the New Year, fans can rejoycify and return to the Emerald City for the epic conclusion to the untold story of the witches of Oz, now from the comfort of their own home. After debuting at #1 at the global box office earning a thrillifying $223M and surpassing Part One as the biggest opening ever for a Broadway musical adaptation, WICKED: FOR GOOD will now be available to buy* or rent exclusively on digital platforms starting December 30th, 2025 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

Boasting a stellar “A” Cinemascore and Verified Hot with a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, WICKED: FOR GOOD is “a sensational conclusion” (Mashable). The film comes home with 2 versions of the movie, including an exclusive sing-along for fans and over one hour of bonus features, including deleted scenes, a 50+ minute exclusive look into the making of the movie with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and the cast and filmmakers, and more must-have behind-the-scenes featurettes. WICKED: FOR GOOD will also be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray™ & DVD on January 20th, 2026. There’s nowhere like home to watch WICKED: FOR GOOD.

In WICKED: FOR GOOD, Elphaba and Glinda are now estranged, each living with the consequences of their choices. Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, continuing her fight to expose The Wizard. Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) has become a glamorous symbol of Goodness, basking in the perks of fame and popularity.

When a girl from Kansas crashes into their lives, Elphaba and Glinda must reunite and truly see each other—if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz. Bring home the adventure with an exclusive sing-along and prepare to be changed…for good.

4K UHD Blu-ray Verdict: Warner Bros. Entertainment is expanding their 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray catalog offerings this month with the release of the highly-anticipated Wicked: For Good (Part 2) (4K Ultra HD + Digital) in the expansive 4K Ultra HD video format this January 20th, 2026.

For my money, this Wicked: For Good (Part 2) (4K Ultra HD + Digital) sharpness takes a fairly large step forward from others in their 4K Ultra HD catalog and even comes with HDR (High Dynamic Range) for the complete 4K Ultra HD experience, of course.

So, what we have is Wicked: For Good (Part 2) presented to us as a one-disc with a sheet for a Digital HD Copy. Other stand out points you should know are: Codec: HEVC / H.265, Resolution: Native 4K (2160p), HDR: Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Original aspect ratio: 2.39:1.

Featuring Dolby Vision and HDR10 for brighter, deeper, and way more lifelike colors, as with most all 4K UHDs, everything that we watch features these qualities - but somehow, this film gloriously shines within them all.

Noticeably crisp with the overall clarity receiving an obvious boost here on this release, what is more is that it is enjoyably noticeable. For as well as some new nuances to the somewhat drab palette courtesy of Dolby Vision, we also get to witness sudden bright pops of color, which makes the eyes draw in, for sure.

The best scenes in Wicked: For Good often highlight these factors along with the emotional depth and friendship between the two leads, with us devoted fans especially loving the finale for Glinda helping the animals and the emotional callbacks to the first film, especially the final shot mimicking the poster!

Wow, that a monumental moment that truly is. My other favorites include intimate, unscripted moments like the I love you exchange at the closet door, the poignant “Ozdust Ballroom” dance, the heartfelt “Over the Rainbow” reprise, Glinda’s “Girl in the Bubble” penthouse sequence, and intense moments like Elphaba’s (sometimes giddy) chase scenes.

As for the audio, well we get the choice of: English: Dolby Atmos English: Dolby TrueHD 7.1 (48kHz, 24-bit).

Overall, this is a very strong 4K HDR Blu-ray presentation, and, for the most part, the audio track remains fairly similar to its DTS-HD counterpart; with much of the action occupying the surrounds with outstanding directionality and placement where effects flawlessly pan between the sides and rears.

As for the film itself, well, and in my humble opinion, Wicked: For Good defies gravity and exceeds expectations set by Part One. The character arcs are expanded and deepened, the cinematography and directing builds a calm before the storm energy that will leave you glued to the screen, and the set design and costuming/makeup truly brings the whole story together for good!

Performances by the entire cast left me with goosebumps, especially those of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The Oscar campaign for these actresses is going to be wild and BOTH deserve to walk away with their WELL-EARNED awards in their respective categories. The buildup of their stories coincide in a beautiful and painful way that left me turning away with tears that refused to stop.

And I, of course, HAVE to mention the INSANE tension between Marissa Bode’s and Ethan Slater’s on-screen chemistry. The deep layers of Nessarose and Boq were visible in ways unexplainable by words, but more so through the feeling I had running up my spine. When it comes to the vocal performances of the soundtrack, Thank Goodness and NO GOOD DEED truly stood out to me. Cynthia is an absolute powerhouse and had the entire audience erupting in cheers and applause.

When it came to the second half of the film, it was definitely faster paced while still allowing key moments to have their centerstage spotlight. And of course, we have the crossover with The Wizard of Oz that fortunately does not steal away from the core of the film. Jon M. Chu, you are a GENIUS. I truly enjoyed how many off-stage moments were expanded in this film and allowed for many narratives to be dived deeper into.

And then there’s For Good ... holy shiz! I was crying for half the song and then immediately after all the way until the end of the film. There’s also one scene that was thankfully not rushed and gutted my heart out in ways I can’t even explain. I’ll leave that one unexplained so that you yourselves can hopefully feel the same way too. All in all, it’s an astounding conclusion to a beloved franchise. I am truly myself changed for good having seen it.
