Bad Bunny - Global Takeover [DVD]
(Bad Bunny / DVD / NR / (2024) 2026 / Legacy Distribution)

Overview: Not many music artists can claim to be a famous pop star, professional wrestler, and activist! Meet the King of Latin Trap, Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny is known for bringing reggaeton music onto the global stage. Dive into its Caribbean roots of Reggaeton with artists like El General, Ivy Queen, Daddy Yankee and Karol G.

DVD Verdict: Born on March 10th, 1994, as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny emerged as a prominent Puerto Rican singer, rapper, and songwriter, leaving an enduring legacy in the global music scene. His artistic fusion of reggaeton, Latin trap, and hip-hop, crafted a genre-defying sound that resonates with diverse audiences.

Raised in the small town of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny developed a passion for music listening to reggaeton rappers and salsa music and performing in the choir of his Catholic church. At age 14, he began experimenting with musical compositions of his own and, using social media platforms like SoundCloud, he gained a solid fan base.

The pivotal moment arrived in 2018 when Bad Bunny collaborated with Cardi B and J Balvin on I Like It, followed by Mia in collaboration with Drake. The success of these songs led to Bad Bunny’s inaugural studio album, X 100pre (2018). The album’s introspective lyricism and genre-blurring compositions struck a chord universally, capturing both critical acclaim and commercial triumph.

Subsequent releases, including albums such as YHLQMDLG (2020) and El Último Tour Del Mundo (2020), cemented his place as a global sensation. The groundbreaking El Último Tour Del Mundo became the first all-Spanish-language album to ascend the summit of the Billboard 200 chart.

His fourth album, Un Verano Sin Ti (2022) debuted at number on the Billboard 200 and maintained that position for 13 non-consecutive weeks. In addition to his successful solo compositions, Bad Bunny’s collaborative efforts transcended barriers of genre and language reaching an even wider international audience.

And so here on the 44-minute documentary Bad Bunny - Global Takeover, we see how Bad Bunny’s influence extends beyond music and into the realms of fashion and social justice. His distinctive style and unabashed genuineness have positioned him as a cultural icon and proponent of unapologetic self-expression. Using his platform, he has addressed a myriad of issues from gender parity to inclusivity and political advocacy.
