DVD Verdict: In what is a delightful horror B-movie to watch on a cold and rainy outside kinda-night, directed by Matt Jaissle (Apocalypse Bigfoot, The Necro Files, and Legion of the Night), and featuring a solid cast of Paul Bilbrey (R.J. Dawson), Amanda Foster (Kitty Cooper), Jinxx Hooks (Matt Jaissle himself pulling double duty), Night Of The Rats covers all the low budget genre bases, ticks all the cheesy dialogue boxes, and comes out the other end a most glorious cinematic experience.

In a small Midwestern town besieged by mutated, hyper-aggressive killer rats, two scientists must stop the swarm from devouring the town, because if they don’t, well, ratsapalooza will take over and spread quickly thereafter!

With a sprightly runtime of just one hour ten minutes, Night Of The Rats should not be confused with the 1984 Italian horror film Rats: Night of Terror (also known as Blood Kill), which is actually also being released on 4K UHD in 2026, for this is a standalone home video gem of the highest order, you can take my word for that!
