The Chladni Progression: The Power to Heal
By: T/R Ellison - Roundfire Books - $22.95
Overview: The Chladni Progression: The Power to Heal is a gripping tale of technological marvels, ethical dilemmas, Eastern philosophy, and the enduring power of love and resilience.
Will the forces of good triumph, or will the relentless pursuit of Quantum Medicine’s scientific breakthroughs lead to betrayal and destruction?
Verdict: The answers lie within Blaise Manning’s quest to save his 5-year-old daughter, Tessa, and his best friend, business partner, and brother, Max Gould, when modern medicine and Western science declare them both lost causes.
To save the only two people in the world who matter to him, Blaise recruits six of the world’s leading research scientists and the help of Tenzin Samten, a Tibetan monk with a mysterious gift.
Tenzin’s inner voice communicates a primordial vibration with the power to connect with everything - a force imbued with the power to heal and the capacity to destroy. Together, they will push the boundaries of scientific discovery and the human experience to the very edge.
In what is one of the most captivating reads I have had the pleasure to settle in over a period of consecutive nights over the past few years or more, The Chladni Progression: The Power to Heal, an Occam’s Edge Novel by author T/R Ellison is a book that seamlessly bonds family and friends within a meticulously woven exploratory insight of technology and science via a soul-wrenching odyssey.
The Chladni Progression: The Power to Heal, an Occam’s Edge Novel is a near-future science fiction novel set in the summer of 2000. For many readers, this may be a time before you were born, but think of the wonder of that time, the baby steps to today’s A.I. tools, gaming systems, autonomous vehicles and the challenges we again face with the prospects of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) looming large.
With the dawn of the new millennium, and having survived the Y2K scare, the world turned its attention to the dawn of the new millennium brimming with the technological possibilities. Imagine exploring the wonders and challengers of the consumer technology revolution. Then and now, events like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas showcases pioneering innovations from technology companies proffering first-of-their-kind gadgets, gizmos and gidgets.
But amidst the enthusiasm, most of us barely, and rarely, stopped to consider the ethical implications of unrestrained technology advances. There was/is legitimate cause for alarm, raised by some; ignored by many. How would the relentless pursuit of technology impact society? Would technology consumption with its voracious demands for ever faster, smaller, better versions benefit society, the individual or would it, could it, hasten our own obsolescence?
This is the premise that asks the reader to think differently, ask different, better questions, challenging outdated paradigms and envisioning a future where bias and disparities are just a footnote to History, a relic of the past. For what we get here is a gripping action prose, one that unfolds as an ever-intriguing coming of age mystery, and all done with in-depth characters that, for the most part, you will adhere to and at times, even route for.
The original Occam’s Edge draft was penned in the early 2000s during an immense time of change, echoing the post-9/11 world, and in the author’s personal journey. The Chladni Progression trilogy draws inspiration from both Eastern and Western medicine, weaving science and fiction throughout the narrative.
And it is wise for me to conclude this review with the fact that whilst rooted in real-world advances in sound-based medicine and healing practices, the story brought forth here remains a work of fiction with characters and events born solely from the author’s imagination.
