Death Charts An Astrological Tool for the Bereaved
By: Linda Moonrabbit Zlotnick - Moonrabbit Press - $18.00

Overview: Death Charts An Astrological Tool for the Bereaved is a most wondrous, and highly in-depth guide for astrologers supporting clients in their grief journeys.

Veteran astrologer Linda Moonrabbit Zlotnick - along with Della Kurzer-Zlotnick - introduces a practice she has refined through nearly two hundred sessions with grieving clients: casting and reading the chart for the exact date, time, and place of a loved one’s passing.

Used with skill and care, this so-termed death chart can reveal the deeper timing of a death, illuminate its meaning, and offer the bereaved a path forward.

Verdict: Introducing us to a practice that the lovely astrologer Linda Moonrabbit Zlotnick has herself cultivated and grown more familiar with over the passing decades, alongside Della Kurzer-Zlotnick, Linda brings forth one of the most enthralling, and genuinely helpful new books of prose on this subject matter that I myself have read in the past decade or more.

Now, that’s not to say that books like this are ten-a-penny on the market, where every month another similar version is brought forth, for that is far from the truth. Moreover, and having been refined through nearly two hundred sessions with grieving clients, Linda’s ability for casting and reading the chart for the exact date, time, and place of a loved one’s passing has been honed in such an incredible manner that it actually makes this book kind of a one off re: a subject rarely mentioned in astrological literature-death.

Drawing on nearly five decades of professional astrology - and her own long passage through the loss of her identical twin - Linda guides astrologers and death workers in a new dimension of soul-centered practice; so much so that although this new book is 206 pages in length, it will have you captivated from the very off.

And given the fact that Linda has practiced astrology professionally since 1978, serves as director of certification for the Organization for Professional Astrology (OPA) and teaches the Master Class in Death Charts at Kepler College, well, as you can well imagine there are not many others out there as qualified as she to have brought this book forward to the general public at large.

As for what to expect inside, well, inside you will find:

The three charts at the heart of this work: natal, death, and bi-wheel How to prepare for, maintain, and close a death chart session in an ethical manner

A full consultation walked through step by step

The role of eclipses, transits, and aspect patterns in the timing of loss In-depth chapters on Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Ceres, and Chiron-each with real case studies

Guidance on the stages of grief and the practitioner’s role in recovery Part practical manual, part field guide for the heart, Death Charts offers a new tool for those who serve the grieving and a new lens for understanding the moment a soul leaves this world

Written in such a dutifully articulate, confident yet never verbose manner, the book may well be aimed at those professional astrologers who support clients through life’s hardest moments, but it also lovingly, and artfully amiably suits all those looking for some accessible and deeply insightful pockets of direction; in themselves trying to understand and moreover come to terms with their own losses.

About the Author - Linda Moonrabbit Zlotnick has practiced astrology professionally since 1978. She serves as director of certification for the Organization for Professional Astrology (OPA) and teaches the Master Class in Death Charts at Kepler College. She is the award-winning author of Star Sisters: An Astrologer’s Memoir of Twin Loss. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota.

As a second-generation queer astrologer, Della Kurzer-Zlotnick has had a relationship with the heavens since a young age. They’ve been studying and practicing astrology professionally since 2020. Their purpose in this work is to facilitate healing and growth with help from the stars.
